Halosil Launches New HaloFogger® EXT Model to Deliver Flexible, Whole Room Disinfection to Small Spaces

NEW CASTLE, DE (July 12, 2017) — Halosil International, the leader in whole room disinfection and infection control, recently launched the HaloFogger® EXT, the newest addition to its HaloFogger® line of aerosolized hydrogen peroxide fogging devices. The EXT model achieves the same 6-log validated effectiveness as the HaloFogger® and newly released HaloFogger® FLX, and pairs this industry-leading efficacy with features specifically designed to disinfect the smallest of spaces.

With a fluid output of 25 ml (0.85 oz) per minute and timer ranging from one to 30 minutes, the EXT is optimized to treat a diverse range of unique, confined areas up to 2,500 cubic feet (70 cubic meters)—including emergency vehicles, biosafety cabinets, lab hoods and isolators.

Like the recently released HaloFogger FLX model, the EXT model features flexible and removable nozzles to facilitate disinfection of hard to reach areas. The EXT comes standard with a five-foot detachable hose. Additional assemblies are available, empowering operators to disinfect multiple areas in rapid succession using only one base unit. For Halosil, the release of its EXT model underscores an unwavering commitment to supporting the disinfection of all spaces in healthcare, pharmaceutical and life sciences settings.

“HAI-causing bacteria can lurk inside the emergency vehicle, or inside the biosafety cabinet, so an appropriate whole room disinfection system must be able to disinfect these spaces too,” said Maryalice StClair, VP of Business Development at Halosil. “Creating models that adapt to the unique spaces and places our customers aim to disinfect is an integral part of achieving our vision for 6-log whole room disinfection in every hospital, long-term care facility and laboratory.”

Halosil is widely known for its no tolerance policy for harmful HAIs, achieving an EPA-validated, 6-log kill rate with uniform coverage throughout the healthcare environment. According to Chris Ungermann, Chief Executive Officer at Halosil International, the EXT is a natural extension of the high standard that Halosil brings to the whole room disinfection space.

“The launch of the EXT model is an exciting development for the disinfection of traditionally small and difficult to reach areas,” Chris Ungermann, Chief Executive Officer of Halosil International, said. “The EXT brings together our high efficacy standards with features that demonstrate our understanding of the practical needs of our customers. This type of innovation is a reminder that we are committed to keeping them ahead in the fight against HAIs.”
